Buying and Installation

Most common installation for your first track if you buy just one.

On the wall, vertically, from the ceiling down.

Most common installation for your second track if you buy one more.

On the wall, vertically, from the top of the baseboard up.

Most common installation for your first set of 3 tracks.

On the wall, vertically, from the ceiling down

And staggered to

On the opposite wall, vertically, from the top of the baseboard up on an opposite wall.

On the seiling.

When you do this staggered configuration on a ceiling, wall, or baseboard, you simply get a lot more ranges of movements.

Mounting one from the top of the baseboard up on one wall, and one from the ceiling down on the opposite wall like this, the top of one track and the bottom of the other track will be opposite on the horizontal plane, and good for certain exercises. ( based on an 8ft or less wall height )

Most common installation for your second of 3 tracks.

One on the ceiling in a staggered layout similar to the wall mounting.

One on the wall either from the top down or the bottom up.

One the baseboard in a staggered layout similar to the wall mounting.

Most common installation for your third set of tracks.

Another one on the ceiling in a staggered layout similar to the wall mounting.

Another one the baseboard in a staggered layout similar to the wall mounting.

You have 2 connector sets per track. The reason you get 2, is so once you put your band on it you don’t have to keep taking it off. Just switch connector sets with the bands still on it. When you buy more tracks you get more connector sets with it. When you really get into it, buy more bands and buy some more connector sets. The more connector sets you have, the more bands you can just leave hanging on the RE-SETtracks ready to use. It’s common to have 10 or 12 connector sets and bands sets around.

As you put tension on the band, it will stay in the spool. The spool allows the band to roll through both ways so you can adjust the tension to be equal on both handles, or, be uneven, for example, if you are trying to work one arm or leg harder than the other.

You “can” get 2 bands in one ring if you want to increase the resistance.

You can always buy additional connector sets. They come with free shipping

THIS IS IMPORTANT

Bands wear out. They need to be replaced. The frequency of replacement depends on how often you use them. Before RE-SETtracks came along, bands lasted years because people only used them a few times because they discovered there is not much you can do with them.

Now, with RE-SETtracks you may be using them daily, even a couple times a day, with 15 minute / ½ hour / or 1 hour long workouts, of varying intensity.

The bands you use now may only last a month! And it’s not the quality of the bands – it the frequency of use!! So, check them every day. And when they show wear, discontinue use. Wear will be where the rubber wears off and shreds a bit, usually where the spool is. A lot of wear is when the worn area is sticky to the touch. Wear means you’re progressing, so don’t think of it as a waste. You’ve taken them to your limits and are getting stronger and fitter.

Get new ones. Treat yourself. You deserve it. New bands will feel good and you’ll notice the difference. And, you may be graduating to stronger, or different types, because you will have learned more about band types. You may want to look into just buying 50lb bands – the black ones if you find the 10lb bands aren’t resistant enough.

Band Types

As for resistance bands there are a wide variety you can buy. Don’t think of it as a lot of different companies selling the same bands. There IS a difference. And it’ll matter to you now. Pay attention to the bands you start with. Today, write down in your exercise log, what bands you have, when you got them, where you got them, and what name is on them. Even take a picture. Log when you buy each set. Later on when you have a bunch of different types you’ll want to know which ones they are, and where you got them, because you may want to get them again. My first ones have awesome handles, and thick bands, and I have no idea where I got them…

And how you use them, how creative you get with them, and what more you think you can do with them will keep you interested in exercising. If you already have a set of bands, good, but you’ll notice right away that you won’t want to be switching bands all the time and your thought will be “ I just need more bands”

Note – within a couple of weeks of starting my RE-SETtracks I had 4 sets and ordered more

When you’re ready to replace your first set ( congratulations! ), and even when you start and want more bands for more choice, you’ll notice there are differences.

What do you do with the door hanger that comes with a bands set?

Look at the image on the main page with the caption Who ever thought you could pull this much! I use the door hanger and pass bands through the part that goes over the door and use the foam as the soft guide for the bands. I have to keep adjusting them, but that’s fine.

Connector sets. Every time you use the bands make sure the connector sets are clipped on ok. If you live alone it’s less of a concern, but if you don’t,  never assume no one is trying them out in your absence and didn’t clip them back on right. They won’t come off if put on right and I’ve never had one come off, but I’ll bet if it did it will hurt – a lot. You can pull or to 2,000 lbs on it, so, get strong.

 Considerations

If you can’t reach the ceiling, or, up high on your wall, and you’re wanting to be able to pull down from that high, ( and you will ) you will likely need to get a step for your workout room so you can reach them.

Mounting Instruction

*Note to Installer. Think of this like fastening a 1x2 furring strip to a plate/stud/joist/chord on a finished wall, sufficiently so that it can bear strong sustained pulling weight on it. Look at the job, plan it, and figure out what fasteners and or anchors you need for each track location.

*Customer may have videos of our RE-SETtracks in use that you can see what they are, and where they are typically mounted.

Mounting locations of RE-SETtracks for a typical wood frame house.

Along the baseboards mounted through the baseboard into the bottom plate of a frame wall. (don’t install them in the floor)

On the wall, vertically, from the top of the baseboard up, mounted through the wallboard to a stud in a frame wall.

On the wall, vertically, from the ceiling down. mounted through the wallboard to a stud in a frame wall.

On the ceiling, mounted through the ceilingboard to a joist, or, to the bottom chord of a roof truss.

For normal wood frame standard construction houses, use #12,Countersink (flat) 2 inch length minimum, Fully threaded screws, fastened to the members listed above.

IF you live in apartment building, or, any style house other than standard wood frame, such as metal frame, lath and plaster, concrete of any kind, log, or, built with some of the new construction techniques, OR, in a commercial building, OR, putting them outside, the mounting is all different. STOP. You will have to hire someone knowledgeable to properly mount the RE-SETtracks with the proper fasteners they would provide for YOUR specific application.

If you do not understand the mounting instructions, then you need to get someone who knows what to do to mount them where (or close to where) you want them, depending on the parameters above. Send the contractor this page. Send him some videos of RE-SETtracks.
